Biological safety cabinet is an enclosed, properly ventilated lab workspace that is majorly employed to safely work in a highly risky environment. This safety cabinet can be used during the microbiological research. This cabinet must always be kept under the scrutiny by the quality inspectors during the production process. The vertical laminar airflow in the cabinet obstructs the entry of airborne particles and microorganisms. Thick board is cladded with sunmica to form the cabinet. Epoxy pain is applied on the inner surface to ensure its longer life.
Heavy gauge SS sheet is used for making of worktable, which is fitted with static pressure manometer, U.V. germicidal light, virus burn out unit and exhaust system (suitable for 6 feet duck). Thick and transparent plexi glass is used for side panels. Pre-filter and HEPA filter are fitted on the unit. Air passed through pre-filter and then HEPA (High Efficiency Particular Air) filters which can retain every air- borne particle of size 0.3 micron and larger. The motor and blower assembly are balanced both, dynamically and statistically, with a dynamic balancing machine. The 1/4 H.P. capacity motor operates without making any noise. Fluorescent lights are used for illuminating the unit’s working area. The operator can comfortably sit down, given to the apt height of the working table. The clean air is re-circulated in the bio-safe cabinet. HEPA filter of size 1' x 1' x 6" throws out the excess air from the top, which is being sucked by the pre-filter. Apart from different filters and lights, it is provided with glove ports and gauntlets.
